I’m with a high school media program. My video instructor and his students created a video on FCP7 and exported the file as a QuickTime .mov using H.264 compression and uncompressed 48khz audio as stereo and then mono and then as AAC. I haven’t seen this issue in years but the video was uploaded to youtube at

The audio plays fine if you are on a desktop but then the middle, rap verses/narration/ won’t play on droids or iPhones. This is crazy weird. Has anyone had this problem. I personally use Avid, Premiere and FCPX and have never had an issue with layers of audio not playing on mobile devices.

Try going into your audio tracks and seeing if they are panned all the way left and right. Try a mix-down to mono.

Will tell the instructor. We did the mono export once but not the pan. Thanks

You could be experiencing what is called “phase cancellation”. When two versions of the exact same signal meet, the “peaks” on one can fill in the “valleys”on the other, the result being very low or zero audio, even when everything is at full volume. A way to check this is to bump one identical track by just a frame; if the audio comes roaring back loud, you had a phase-cancelling problem, and need to put one of the audio channels into reverse phase.
