FCP7 (CTRL+OPTION+Z) shortcut, FOUND it for PREMIERE 6.0!!
So all you former FCP7 users who used (CTRL+OPTION+Z) shortcut a TON, well I used this a lot, ok, so I tried out a few things, and it does work. In FCP7, the (CTRL+OPTION+Z) shortcut allows you to drag and move forwards or backwards as you copy and drag. In Premiere, you high-light the parts you want to copy and drag, however, in Premiere, you select the group of clips, and rather than using “(CTRL+OPTION+Z)”, you use HOLD DOWN the OPTION key, and move the clips directly above the clips you are copying, and hold the OPTION key, till it is moved, then let go. If you try and copy and drag left or right, you will actually just move the clips you are trying to copy, which sucks, so hold down the OPTION key, drag the clips above the clips you are copying, it duplicates them, then you move them left or right. In FP7, you could edit these duplicates as independent clips, like text for example, and it was independent, as you duplicated them, and moved them left or right. In Premiere, using the OPTION key, makes “copies” not duplicates, so if you use this short cut, remember, it’s making copies, NOT duplicates. At least this is what I’ve discovered, so.
