January 15, 2010 at 12:18 amThanks, all. I talked to CalDigit Tech Support, which was great. Their RaidShield is so sophisticated that it can scare you unnecessarily. Turns out all was well in that department.
Also – a big thank you to David Weiss, who suggested that I open the Disk Utility and “Repair Disk Permissions.” I did that on the system drive, found six errors, and haven’t had a crash since.
KNOCK ON WOOD. Or brushed aluminum. And don’t knock too hard – there are drives in there!
Thanks again, everybody. Don’t know what I’d do without you. Probably leave the business — it’d be too stressful to handle these problems alone.

January 15, 2010 at 5:48 amFWIW, CalDigit’s tech folks looked at the crash logs and pointed out a potential problem with Apple’s QuickDraw program.

January 15, 2010 at 6:15 amA god idea of you to send them the report.
To understand these reports I don’t think you need to know a word about digital video, but you need to be very good in programming and so.
Cheers,
Rafael
