I just put a Blackmagic Decklink Studio into my 4.1 Early 2009 Mac Pro. I can’t get a picture on my 2nd display.

I know the Decklink is working because I hooked up my Video Camera and was able to see the image on my 2nd Display. I was also able to capture footage and play it back on my 2nd Monitor.

But when I put the footage I captured in FCP 7, do an easy setup to reflect the footage, put it in the timeline – the screen on my 2nd Monitor is just black.

This is what my PCI slots look like:

    4) Decklink Studio (main PCI card – nothing connected to it)
    3) eSATA card (nothing connected at the moment)
    2) Nvidia Quadro 4000 (nothing connected at the moment)
Open Space) – Decklink HMDI expansion – HDMI out to 2nd Monitor (I checked and it is correctly connected to the HDMI out)
    1) Gt-120 – Connected to my 1st Monitor

In the Black Magic Control panel there really is no other option than “All Video”, and in FCP I have the display out and sequence set to the video footage.

Does anyone know what I’m missing or doing wrong?

    Thank You!

YOu have to choose the DECKLINK settings in the VIDEO PLAYBACK that match your footage. The output must say DECKLINK in the name.

I updated to Resolve 8 and now I can’t connect to the Decklink at all when I start up FCP7…. hmmmm….

But when you said it must say “DECKLINK” in the name I’m assuming you meant “Blackmagic”?

Or maybe that is my problem?

    Blackmagic…yeah. Sorry, I don’t use my Decklink…just sitting on a shelf.

Make sure your VIEW>PLAYBACK settings are set to Blackmagic, then the settings of the sequence.
