I have discovered an odd bug using short transitions in FCP6.

It started when I dropped an 8 frame “G Film Flash” transition to my timeline and it appeared as a 4 frame transition. So I change the duration in the browser to 16 frames and then re-apply it and the duration as 8 frames. It consistently applies the effect with half of its specified duration.

So I tested a bunch of Apple, CHV, CGM and Nattress transitions and they all experience the same issue. Any transition with a duration of 29 frames or less and FCP6 cuts the length in half.

Try it for yourself and see if you get the same results.

    Greg,

You probably need to trash your prefs or pram. This definitely does not happen here. I just tested it.

Can’t reproduce that. Anything unusual about the media you’re using or how you’re applying the transitions?

    All the best,

    Tom

Your right, I just tested it on my laptop and it works fine. I guess a prefs trash is in order.

    thanks.

could it be that the transition you having problem with doesn’t have enough handle length on one side (either in or out)?
