A recent posting made me think…

Is it possible to export your FCP 5 project into Motion 2, and then import that Motion project into AE 6.5?

Now, Motion 2 works seamlessly with FCP 5, and Apple is touting the fact that you can drop a Motion 2 project onto After Effects 6.5.

So, is this a workaround to get your FCP timeline into AE?

I have yet to make the transition to Final Cut Studio, so I can’t test this myself.

    Just wondering…

Quick answer: No. You can open a Motion 2.0 project in After Effects, but After Effects sees it as a piece of footage not as a comp. In other words, it would be the same as exporting your FCP timeline to a QuickTime reference movie.
