FCP5 & SONY HVR-M25U
Hi
I am running FCP 5.0.4, QT 7.1 and 10.4.8 – I bought an HVRM25 HDV deck and can capture just fine, But it will not playback from the timeline in any format, not even DV. Any suggestions will be truly appreciated. Is this a firewire issue or deck set-up ? Any sleepless FCP owners out there to help ?

If you’re asking about playback and viewing externally… no HDV deck supports this. There are other solutions… AJA, Blackmagic, Matrox, and Convergent design make products less expensive than a capture card for the job…

Thanks Jerry..it seems that my firewire was non-functioning. i was able to reset the G5 with the SMU button and then manual resets in the Hardware profiler. The problems seems to be a faulty FW drive which was dragging the whole system down. Many thanks for the suggestion.
