I am having issues with any audio using the 1080i60 HDV setting. I first noticed the problem when I captured a HDV clip and the audio was peaking and jerky.
I thought that possibly it was the media, so I imported a cd audio clip (48HZ 16 bit) and it played ok in the browser, but when I put this audio clip in the timeline it resulted in the same jerky audio. I setup my capture setting using the Easy Setup (device control preset: sony hdv firewire, capture preset: HDV)
Are there any suggestion to solve this problem? thanks

If you’re working from the hard drive on your laptop that’s not gonna cut it. If its some other situation you should mentiomne what hardware you’re working with otherwise no one can help you.

I’m capturing footage off a HDV miniDV tape (1080i) from a Sony HVR-M10U onto a Lacie 500 Firewire drive. I don’t think it’s a slow processing speed or memory problem….but then again, at this point I’m not too sure about anything pertaining to this problem. This audio glitching problem occurs with normal audio (48hz 16 bit) captured from a music cd, in addition to HDV footage.

    I have a 15″ powerbook 1.5GHz with 2Gb of RAM. I’m using FCP 5 with Tiger 10.4.2
