I was wondering if there was something special you had to do to get an XML of a timeline from Final Cut Pro v 7.0 to Media 100 Suite 1.1.1. I think I have tried every XML version Final Cut does…but Media 100 says it is not a recognizable XML file. With the error invalid xmlChar value 8 in the Log window. This timeline was originally xported as an XML from Media100 to Final Cut.
Is there anything special I have to do? I haven’t found anything online yet

    Ben,

How are you creating the XML in FCP?

It sounds like there might be something in the XML that M100 doesn’t understand.

Can you send the XML to support@media100.com attn:Matt. I will try to take a look and see.

As a test create a new project in Final cut, just toss in some color bars, export an XML and see if that works just to make sure.

Ok I tried it with another program and it worked. Upon further inspection, FCP is seeing my timeline media as “offline” even though it is playing fine. I had originally exported this timeline from Media 100 as xml and imported it into FCP, I guess that is where the screw up happened.
