And let me guess, it’s 48 streams of 8k dpx files too, right?

Over WiFi? That 802.11abcfgn is wicked.

[Andy Branner] “Thank you for the confirmation to my last post, regarding actual knowledge.

    Oops.
And even if I had to buy 3rd party tools to do something 1 out of 10.000 (I’m being nice) even need, I’d still be HUNDREDS under the cost of just ONE PPro license. But feel free to continue working through your Premiere Pro CC October Press Release searching for “arguments”. Seems really important to you and your ego. I guess you would have been EVEN harder up for anything to rant about less than a month ago! 😀

What Walter said down there, a workaround is not a workflow, if it’s your only choice, then it’s OK.

[Andy Branner] “[Santiago Martí] “Wrong again, FCPX cannot open 6K Dragon footage, yet.”

https://www.red.com/downloads/5086c46b17ef0223980000b3 … just ignore the release date. Better for your blood-pressure.
    Oops again.”

Ok, you can open it, can you actually edit it natively in 6K? Do you have access to HDRX? Does it performs well? I’m Actually interested in the answer, prefereable without the oops, ouchs, friends in pub, etc

Yoy missed the answer to the phantom files thingy.

    [Andy Branner] “Triple oops.”
Nice one, really mature of you.

What the hell is this? Who is this?

Was I ever this bad? Were any of us? Jesus Christ this is annoying to read. Just surreally irritating.

What would this be like for a client?

With 2 5.25 floppy drives and a megabyte of ram, I bet! Photoshop is just a pale ripoff of Delux Paint III… I think I still have my perpetual DP3 license around here somewhere. 🙂

No, your rants are smart, funny and generally entertaining… plus, you admit when someone you disagree with makes good points… ‘this’ is definitely not that!

Herb, you are right. It is that, not at 1/4 but at 1/8, my fault not to clear that up. But the rest is like you said. It is in fact an old machine, dual quad without HT, so only 8 threads, 8 cores at 2.5Ghz and 16GB of ecc ram and a Quadro CX, it is an old Quadro equivalent to the 4800 model I think.
I took random 4K clips from my first shoot with the Red One, the performance was not top notch, I wouldn’t use it on a real 16 angle multicam job. I’ve never had so many angles in an edit! But it was a real benchmark with an old machine and new software. I think in a newer machine it could be a pleaseant experience.

It would be cool if when the MacPro ships we could benchmark same kind of projects in different machines, just for geek fun.

Sorry for the show, i got carried away. I am one of those that started following this forum the minute it was created, my favourite of all!!! A lot of people here are really fun to read, the actual debacle was fun in a way.
    Cheers!!!
