    [Andy Branner] “(creepy much?)”

I leave that to you. You’re pretty good at it.

    Chris –

First of all thank you for trying to defend me, but I think this should stop. We are in a situation where people from all sides of the argument have asked Andy to moderate his tone and given that he has even gotten Walter into a position where he has shown annoyance I believe the best solution, as with any infantile behavior, is just to ignore the outbursts. “I know you are but what am I” feeds on angry responses and will die from their lack. And the quieter it gets, the louder the sound of his failure to respond to the reasonable questions he was being asked. Obviously he has painted himself into a corner of his own devising and is just howling away to distract notice.

Ooooh, how to start…When you finish an edit, you usually have to render it, so, if you open a DPX sequence, edit, then aply VFX how long does it take to render. Please, try to think, leave the playstation alone for a minute.

[Andy Branner] “Yeah, it’s just a bummer that it’s not anywhere near FULL-RES, which is the entire point of the thread. Again, reading comprehension.”
Sorry, but i couldn’t finde the FULL-RES thing in the tittle of the thread.

[Andy Branner] “Rendering?? LOL… thanks, I’ll go with realtime. Was already able to do that YEARS ago with Motion, sorry.”
How on earth you have realtime DPX on FCPX if FCPX cannot edit DPX, please, show me.

[Andy Branner] “Since day one! How about OpenEXR, TIFF, JPEG or any number of other formats… ooooh, crazy ****, hm? :-D”
Lie, you cannot edit DPX nor OpenEXR from the timeline, if you have to transcode, then it doesn’t.

[Andy Branner] “It already has for over a MONTH. And gee, guess what that means…? That means: LONGER THAN PPro HAS… oooopsyyyy. “
Wrong again, FCPX cannot open 6K Dragon footage, yet. If you have to transocode, wich you could do on any capable software, then FCPX cannot edit native 6k files.

[Andy Branner] “Hmmm… you mean maybe via the “PhantomCineToolkit” that has been around since FCP 7?! Erm… yeah, it does actually.”
You are lying again, FCPX cannot open nor edit natively Phantom originated material. If you transcode it with another application, well, do I need to keep going?

    [Andy Branner] “Now you know.”
No, I still don’t and you are not the right person to ask. Go back to GTA V

[Andy Branner] “So how is that $200 and 600MB/s RAID coming along? :-))))))”
Really well indeed, it is one of my oldest workstations working rock steady for lower res gigs.

[Andy Branner] “Use all the Premiere you want. No one cares. Be happy, make money, impress your mates at the pub. Just do yourself a favor and don’t come onto some other forum just to let off some snarky, bs remarks about something you clearly have no clue about. Trying to pull off the tired “I’m so mo’ beta PRO than YOU… njeh njeh njeh”-spiel by conjuring up all the hot-shot formats, workflows and jargon you can think of in the hope of tripping someone up. You lack even the most basic knowledge for that. It backfired, sorry. That way the two of us can save ourselves a lot typing and you won’t come off as some blowhard who’s merely trolling without rhyme nor reason just because you think hatin’ on FCP X is so cool, “pro” and the IN thing to do.”

WTF! You are really making my day!!!

By the way, Ppro is not able to read 6K dragon or Phantom files yet, so that is why I was asking.
I’m really atracted to a lower end MacPro to run FCPX if the demand is there when it comes out. I still don’t like FCPX but that doesn’t mean I don’t consider it if the situation demands it, so if anyone knew some new features it would be cool.
Right now my CC is updating Prelude, Ppro, AE and speedgrade, so I think I might be able to open and edit Dragon and Phantom files, also be able to open a Ppro timeline in Speedgrade, if you like I let you know how it works, I’m curious as anyone. Cheers.
Edit: I’m also eager to try GPU redcode debayer!

[Andy Branner] “:-)))) … right. So you’re doing nearly 600MB/s on your internal bus. Mmmmh-hmmmm… gotcha. LOL”

I don’t understand why you think it’s impossible for an internal 5-spindle soft RAID0 to pull 600 MB/s or more.

[Andy Branner] “Since day one! How about OpenEXR, TIFF, JPEG or any number of other formats… ooooh, crazy ****, hm? :-D”

Actually, while FCPX supports a bunch of image formats, it does not support image sequences. (If you said this to me, would you insert a  here?)

The workaround is to bring in the zillion images, cut them into a timeline, set their durations to a single frame, and compound it. This is not ideal, because the media is managed as a zillion individual clips, not a single clip. Other alternatives are to use QuickTime Player Pro 7, Motion or Compressor, which do natively support image sequences.

There are workflows where a feature like Premiere’s native image sequence support is really convenient. This would be a great feature for FCPX to add.

I bet over the years all great auteurs have got this angry about what fcpx and adobe premiere can and can’t do.

I’m off to edit 48 streams of 8k video on my acer laptop and Sony Vegas. At once, with colour correction and noise reduction. Don’t believe me? F**k you.

Wow. More? Generally, when I first check my email on any given day, if my “subscriptions and notifications” account has something on the order of 50 messages it means that there is some exciting news, product release or software update that many websites are covering. Fool me once…

I vaguely remember talk of a feature on the COW, the ability to block posts from certain users. Has this been implemented? I couldn’t find it. *sadface…palm*
