    Got a question…

Apple says “Final Cut Pro uses the high-speed GPU on the graphics card for effects previews and rendering. Because tapping the GPU core speeds up processing, you can work with richer, more complex effects that play in real time during the creative process.”

So, suppose I have a Mac Pro with a GT 120 and a GTX 285 (DaVinci Resolve set-up), does FCP X use all GPUs present or is it using only one of the of the present cards? If it is only using one, does it default to the GUI?

Most if not all apps (except DaVinci) use the GUI-card for acceleration I think.

Yeah, that is what I thought but was hoping for otherwise. Would be cool if it automatically used all present GPUs.

    Thanks!

I think a feature of OpenCL is to use all available processors in the system – CPU, GPU or custom DSP – as best se fit for maximum performance. If this actually works in reality is a different story. I’ve seen tech-demos showing the above.
