FCP X effect preset enabling you to add a nice colour wash and glow to your footage.

BG FCP X All Washed Up

I used a similar effect to this in FCP 7 all the time, by adding a colour solid over your footage and applying a blending mode to the colour solid.

Choose your own colour wash from colour box or use the apple colour picker to choose a colour from your clip.

You can optionally add a subtle glow and a vignette to the effect as well.

There are also controls to adjust the clips black, white and gamma levels if the effect alters the look to much.

(e.g extract to a new folder called “Custom Effects”)

Brendan, another great filter. This one I’ll be using often.

(The only trouble with this filter is that you misspell “color”. :))))

    Thanks,

    Eli

[Brendan Gibbons] “It seems you misspelt colour as well ;)”

    Even worse, you misspelled “mispelled!”

    🙂

Apple specifies ‘Colour’ and ‘Centre’ in the spelling of all new Final Cut Pro X effect parameters designed by people in the UK.

Is this an incredibly wry joke?

Yes, I know… It’s a shame to misspell “misspell,” not to mention “mispelt”!!!!!
