  • FCP-workflow- for web and DVD (interlaced vs. deinterlaced)

Im editing a reel for an Actor.
I’ve been given SD DVD’s of her short films.
Im extracting the video using DVDXpro into quicktimes.
When finished, I will deliver her a Dvd of her reel, and compressed quicktime for the web.
Im wondering if i need to deinterlace her video while Im extracting from original dvd’s using DVDXpro or if i keep it interlaced. I think Im correct in that the DVD’s I author, when Im finished editing, need to be interlaced (because they will be played on a tv), and the compressed quicktime needs to be deinterlaced. AM I correct?
    I need the correct workflow.
Im thinking maybe during extraction of quicktimes, from originals, I keep the video interlaced. Then edit the material and export my full resolution quicktime as interlaced.
Then use this file to author my dvd.
Then to make compressed web version, I would send full resolution quicktime to compressor and deinterlace at this stage. Is this the best workflow.
The whole interlace/deinterlace is a little confusing to me.
Do DVD’s need to be authored with interlaced video?
And do H264’s for web need to be deinterlaced?
Thanks to anyone who can give me correct workflow.
