    Hello Forum Members,

I have a question about FCP workflow. I am currently developing a “video/movie” based on still images.
The entire project has about 113 images. I do have chapter breakdowns. I will be doing something very much like “Moving on Stills” which is an on-line training topic by Larry Jordan (on Lynda.com). I am attempting to emulate something like a Ken Burns project (“The Civil War”, etc. ).

I will have sound effects and music in this project. Currently I have all 113 images in one sequence. I will be editing this sequence using transitions, etc.

The thought occurred to me that it might be “better” to have a sequence for each chapter. Is there a way to play one sequence after another? This project will be output to DVD.

Any tips or suggestions will help.

    Thanks,

    Eric

FCP allows you to nest sequences inside each other. Make your chapters, and then drop the sequence from the browser into a new sequence….they’ll show up just like any other clip. double clicking the sequence in the timeline will open it up so you can make changes, though be aware that if you lengthen the sequence, you’ll have to change it’s length in your ‘master’ sequence…..also, check that you don’t clip the in/out of the sequences preceding/following the sequence you make changes to.

    Hello Dennis,
Thanks for this handy bit of information.
    This certainly will help.
