FCP6 says it cannot “initialize” my fw video deck. fw audio settings are greyed out in the device settings. It used to work fine, but this is the first time I’m trying to output to tape (dv ntsc sequence), since I hooked my mxo a few years back.

Could my mxo interfere with my setup for communication with my firewire sony dsr20 dvcam deck?

My deck is working…I can see the output when it’s connected to my ntsc monitor, and it’s “record” function is working. The fw cable is not a problem because it works capturing from my Sony hdv Z1U.

I’ve tried every possible setting in the av settings. Should I disconnect the mxo stuff.

It was too late to delete this post, but I just now solved the problem. I did have to unhook the mxo and re-cable. Works now. An inconvenience I guess I’ll have to live with when switching workflow.
