Okay, now I’m going crazy. I hooked up my new AJA io la yesterday, installed upgrades, started up FCP v5.1.4…worked fine! I captured plenty of video from a dvd player through the AJA. Shut it all down…..and today I cannot get FCP to recognize the AJA! Yes, the firewire light is lit on the AJA, all the lights are correctly on……FCP just will not find the connection. Please give me some advice before I kill…..

First unplug all your other firewire devices and hook them into a different bus separate from your Macs internal firewire bus.

Open FCP. Hit control-q and choose an AJA io easy setup.

Hi Jeremy, thanks for replying. I fixed the problem by trying (out of frustration) the ProIO setting (which wasn’t there before I installed the firmware update, and didn’t sound like the correct setting). That did the trick.
