FCP wont launch!
So earlier today FCP 5.1 was running fine. I did the software update because of some problems with my Compressor software and went up to FCP – 5.1.3, as well as 10.4.8 OSX and a Pro Application Support Upgrade as well. Now, eveytime I launch FCP it just quits on me. I erased all the preference files. I tried trashing the Receipts and re-installed the software from the Installation Disk, but it still quits during its launch. No other applications Including, Live Type, Motion, DVD Studio, have been affected. Anyone have any ideas…I have been working on this for 7 hours now.

create a new user and install FCP on that user. If it launches then it’s possible there is some conflict with a running process that is crashing out FCP. Shut down any widget programs that are running (that appear in your toolbar or run in the background on OSX) you can see them through Activity Monitor.
