    A problem in two parts…

    1. When I record a Skype call using Call Recorder and convert it to ProRes 422, I get a “General Error” when I try to import it into my project. I thought ProRes was the ideal format for FCP.

    2. So, then, I convert it to H.264 and FCP will take that, but for some weird reason, it always chops off the last 20 seconds or so of the video after it’s imported. Every time.

Anyone know what I’m doing wrong?

    Thanks!

If you create a ProRes file, it needs to be a standard size. Nothing like 320×240 or 640×480. Needs to be a standard video size like 720×486 or 1280×720, etc. That might be causing the general error.

I do believe that was it. The source video was 320×240 and I was converting to “100% of source.” Thanks!
