It actually does add it, but it will not make it longer than 1 frame — I’m sure this is another easy one, but it’s a mystery to me. Plenty of room on both sides of the tansition, but it will not go beyond 1 single frame. An easy answer? Thanks. – Rob

Is there plenty of room on the other side of the cut? If you want to do a 30 frame dissolve you need to cut off 15 good frames at the end of the outgoing clip and the beginning of the incoming clip. These frames will be used during the transition.

Sounds like you need some darn handle. Jason has the right idea: Trim off 15 frames off of both clips, close the gap and reapply the tranny.
