FCP with 1 External HD, where do I plug my camera?
Hello all,
I’m editing with FCP using 2 HD, an external HD for my capture scratch, etc. like it seems to be the best way to do it and my macbook pro hd for the non time-code based media and data.
But here I am trying to capture my footage but my firewire 800 port is used by my Ext. HD that is suppose receive my captured footage.
If I want to continue to use this 2 HD system, where do I plugg the camera for the capture.
Hope to have answers soon, it’s driving me crazy.

3 options
1. Loop your Camera/deck through the FW drive.
2. Connect your FW drive through the USB 2.0 interface on the drive ( hope that it doesn’t drop frames).
3.Capture to Internal drive unplug deck plug in FW drive and copy your footage to FW drive.

You can also buy FW800 repeater hubs, but they’re a tad pricey…
