I remembered some other things I wanted to comment on. If you want to render something in FCP, you just have to select it. In premiere, you have to put that thing above the video ( i KNow, I wont get a hernia for doing it, but still).

That pen tool in FCP. you just make keyframes anywhere you want, for sound, opacity, movement etc. In premiere, you have to do them in the effects panel.

And the adobe media enconder…why is it sooo slow?

You might say “well, stick to FCP then”…but is really not the point.

Maybe the discussion is more Mac vs Pc, but are the little things that count, and FCP is better on those little things. It is just so much more practical. bye guys.

    Thanks

As far as the keyframing on the timeline….

this can be done in PPro as well with the pen tool.

It has to be exposed on the right hand side of the track for the curves to be available on the clips.

Once that is done, a label will appear in the clip itself. For video clips the default is opacity for audio it’s volume, but it can be switched to any available standard parameter or filter added to the respected object. Full beziers are also available as a nice touch.

Keyboard shortcuts for the render area is Alt [ and Alt ]

Can’t speak much about the AME….I’ve not used it in a while. I have to admit Compressor is pretty sweet, but it needs watch folders in addition to droplets.

I’m using PP cs2 when I want to render I just hit “Enter”! Yes you can put “that thing” in a particular spot, but with “Enter” it’ll render what is not rendered.
