  • FCP Viewer hearing only the good audio channel for organizing best takes

Posted by Elliot Pollaro on March 14, 2009 at 2:43 am

I need to be able to go through all of my shots in the viewer and only hear a3 channel instead of the built in on camera mic a1 and a2. The wind was blowing really hard in a lot of footage so I need to be able to go through and just listen to the mic takes without having to drop it in my timeline and manually deleting the audio from the camera. Im organizing all my shots from a shoot

    Thanks

Click on the little icon (that looks like an audio speaker) in the lower-left corner of your Sequence/Timeline window. Toggled on, it should reveal your Solo/Mute options… that should allow you to iso your audio.

That’ll work fro Canvas / Timeline playback Jason, but for Viewer playback you’d best open the Audio Mixer window (Opt-6) and use the mute/solo control there. Solo A3 by clicking on the headphone icon at the top of the A3 controls … see if that gets you where you need.
