Running into a bit of a brick wall here. I’ve been doing a project in an earlier version of FCP (relatively close to 6.0.5) but upgraded during an ongoing project and have been running into a “Log and Transfer” issue on import.

Initially, I had a series of 19 clips ranging in length from 6-30 minutes. What I’ve been finding is that on import, some of the clips will reach a certain duration and then give me the Beachball©. It wasn’t consistent as to clip duration and I got it down to two clips (27 and 30 minutes duration respectively) not being imported.

Now battery power had run out a couple of times while shooting and the camera shut down and I chalked the problem up to a corruption when that happened.

However, today, I partially reshot with an eye toward keeping clip length manageable (13 minutes the longest) and on top of battery power. Still import issues which hung FCP right up. Even when forced quit, FCP was still running in the background and I had to force my machine to power down. Numerous times.

Anyone else run into anything like this? Oh and just for good measure? I tried re-importing the 27-minute clip that wouldn’t imort a few days ago and guess what imports?

I don’t get it. Any help would be much appreciated.
