  • FCP Update 5.1.2 P2 capture ERRORS:No Data

Posted by Rustyrik on October 4, 2006 at 2:53 am

Just upgraded to 5.1.2 and I cannot import all of my p2 clips correctly. Clips under 12 seconds do not capture and are flagged with a red exclamation point (ERROR: No Data).

The clips play fine in the new import window, but will not finish the capture and become QT files. I normally would simply “Import p2”, pick the content folder, then import all of the clips without any problems. PLEASE HELP…deadline is approaching and the idea of having to go back to 5.1.1 does not interest me.

    Thanks,
    Rik

Are these clips straight off the card or they on a different hard drive?

These clips came from a the hardrive which I used to copy the CONTENT folders onto using a p2 card inserted into my laptop’s cardbus slot.

    More questions:

So you have created a folder on your hard-drive and copied the lastclip.txt and then the contents folder into it. You open up FCP and you can play the contents folder just fine but it won’t import.

What are your import preferences set for and what format is the footage?

Yes, I copy the Contents folder and the lastclip.txt files. Some of the clips from it can be imported, maybe 60%. The rest all have the red exclamation point error message.

The footage is shot at 720/24PN. Import settings are set for video and audio capture via p2 import.

Went on a shoot this weekend and the problem exists ONLY with our updated 5.1.2 system, not the other 5.1.1 system. Same clips import fine on the 5.1.1 system. All have the same OSX version and are up to date.

    Thanks
