    FCP unexpectedly quits

    As stated, FCP unexpectedly quits when I am rendering out an H264 file from a timeline.

    I does not seem to care what the original codec is, but when I try to render out a H264 version of it, about 5-10 min in, it quits. I am using XDcam and apple prores the most.

    I am on a powerPC G5 mac dual processor 2.0 with full upgraded FCP 6, 8 gigs of ram.

    This has not been an issue in the past. I have rendered out hundreds of H264 files.
    Just in the past few weeks it has gotten crazy.

    I have trashed pref and done permissions repair, to no avail.

    any suggestions.
    I am getting to the point where I am going to reinstall FCP and try that.

    well the solution seemed to be that my operating system was somehow messed up and a complete install was necessary.
    Then it worked fine.
