hey, i need some help. i was working on a big project yesterday with all the files on an external drive. i shut down the system last night and returned today and now final cut will not open the project. it just says “unable to open project file.” i haven’t changed anything since yesterday. i even took the project over to another computer and it says the same thing.
all the other projects that were being worked on yesterday are fine.

any suggestions? i’m in big trouble if this project isn’t done SOON.
    thanks so much.

You can also “trick” FCP into resetting its obj cache by disconnecting the media, opening a project file without reconnecting media- then power up the drives again and open the project file and reconnect. Kind of sideways but sometimes it works.
