  FCP – Unable to Initialize Capture Device

  Hi,

  I’m new to CreativeCow and hope someone here could help me out.
  I use a Canon Vixia HV40, shot some footage in HDV(30), b/c I was having issues with interlacing using plain HDV. Now my FCP is not recognizing my camera. I’ve tried so many setting changes both on camera and FCP to rectify the issue, but nothing seems to work.

  I’ve even followed some instructions I found here from 2010, that seemed to help everyone else on the thread, but I’m getting the same results.

  I’m not super technical, so all the setups, conversions and compressions are still a bit confusing for me.

  Please help 😉
