FCP to Vegas Issue: Codec & Video Settings
Thanks in advance for any help.
I am using Sony Vegas Movie Studio 9.
I have a .mov file from friend’s FCP.
DVCPRO HD 720p50, 1280×720Video doesn’t show – only plays audio. I have figured out that I do not have the proper codec and need Raylight Decoder to view it and see it in Vegas.
Used Raylight Decoder Demo and that works with watermarks. Wanted to test to see if I could import into Vegas properly before I purchased Raylight Decoder.
This leads to the first question: is there a free way to do this?
I can’t seem to get the settings right though when I import it (with the watermark). Whatever I change the settings to, it is either compressed horizontally or there is black on the top or sides. This footage was shot on the HVX200 – 720/24p – 16:9 (1280×720). However when in FCP or Vegas it comes up as 960x720x24 – 23.936 fps because of the non-square pixels.
Second question: to what do I need to change these settings?
