  • FCP to Soundtrack Pro?

I have eighteen episodes of a show I have to mix in the next couple of months, and I’m trying to decide the best way to handle it given that I’m offlining on FCP 5.03.

I was planning on “SENDING” from FCP my audio tracks to Soundtrack Pro as a MULTITRACK project, which seems to work as I expect, except for one big problem:

I’ve split all the microphones for each character in these shows onto separate tracks within FCP, ten voice tracks in all. In FCP, as with AVID, each track (A1, A2, etc.) is a MONO track, as I would expect.

However, when I open the exported (SEND) project in Soundtrack Pro, eack track (A1, A2, etc.) represents a STEREO pair, which screw up all my split tracks, ’cause I’m getting mics I don’t want!

Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way around this?

    All the best,

    Michael Buday
