I want to create a viewing DVD for some investors. I’ve hear that you can burn a DVD directly from FCP HD now. We do have DVD studio pro, but I’m trying to simplify the process b/c we’re in a bit of a time crunch. Is this rumor acurate? Thanks ahead of time for the help.

The simplest way to make a DVD is to export a quicktime movie from final cut pro (using project settings and “not self-contained”) and to open up iDVD and drag that file into a project there.

Spend about 20 minutes reading the help file and messing around with the all the setttings and prefrences. You’ll figure it out pretty quickly. (The most important thing is to figure out how to preview the disc in the program before you burn it!)

For no-frills, quick-and-easy DVDs that should do you just fine.
