I make DVDs all the time but they are 5 to 10 minutes.

I have a 48 minutes timeline for my kids X-mas play at school and I cannot seem to burn a DVD.

It is DV/NTSC timeline, I am exporting it as a QuickTime Movie, self contained. Sequence settings match, I have 15 gig on my operating system and but I am using an external Hard Drive 56 GB – USB.

I am getting to 1.91 GB on the
export and then makes av.1 and av 2 files up to 6.

I am going crazy trying to figure out why I cannot export properly? Thank you and God Bless for any help.

I am using compressor now fastest encode 4:3 90 minutes.

[RattleItFilms] “Thank you and God Bless for any help.”

Mike, I need all the blessings I can get so…

The problem that your hard drive is formated as FAT32, when it should be Mac Extended. FAT32 has a file size limitation. In order to fromat the hard drive properly you would first have to copy all the files to another drive, then use the Apple Disk Utility in the Applications folder to “Erase” the disk and format as “MAC Extended.”

Your hard drive is very full as well, you might consider going to Staples or Office depot and getting a bigger firewire drive, as they are very, very inexpensive now. If you do, make certain that you format it properly to Mac Extended before moving any files to it, or you will encounter the same issue that you’re having with your other drive.

Good luck and thanks for the blessings,
    David
