FCP to DVD conversion
Hi this is Abby.I have a project on Apple FCP.the size of the project is around 20 GB.I have to make a DVD of that project.So how should i compress the size of my project from 20 GB to 4 GB(The capacity of a DVD).Can it be done on FCP only?.I also want the quality to be good after the DVD is made.So Plz suggest me some tips for that.

Hi Abby,
You can do it with FC and Compressor.
Export your movie from FC with the highest quality that you can.
Then you need to convert the QT movie in an MPEG-2. You do that in Compressor. You have there the presets according with the length of your movie and the quality you want to get.
Then you need to bring those files to DVDSTP to make the DVD.
Every step is very well explained in the manuals of each application.

DVD Studio Pro also has built in compression. Export your movie using Final Cut–Export Quicktime Movie under the file menu. Bring that movie into DVD Studio Pro, by opening DVD Studio Pro, going to graphical tab, deleting the default menu and track that’s there, then dragging your Quicktime movie into it. Control click your Quicktime movie to make it ‘first play’ and autoplay…then click ‘Burn’…woila…your movie is compressed, then burned onto a DVD.
