  • FCP to CS5: Shortcut for reveal affiliated clip in front sequence

Posted by Sarmed Mirza on October 13, 2011 at 11:14 pm

    Hi guys
I am transfering from FCP to CS5. IN FCP ther eis a command ‘reveal affiliated clip in front sequence’. I use it when I have a clip in the timeline and same clip is also in my sequence monitor. But I want to reveal the whole clip in the sequence monitor with the playhead where it is in the timeline over that clip. How can I do that in CS5.

Many thanks in advance for anyone who can help out.

not sure exactly what you want to do, but it sounds like “match frame” which is M on windows and probably is the same on Mac.

Double click on the clip in the timeline and it will open in the Source Monitor with the playhead at the same position as in the timeline.
If you want to do this a second time with the same clip and the playhead in a different position you have to close the clip first in the Source Monitor.

    hay!
i have a question: i select a clip in the sequence (FCP 7.0.3) and choose “select affliated clips” with my right mouse knob, and it does not show the affliated clips. do you have any idea why?

    thanks,

    Thank you!
I was really frustrated with this.
That little tip about having to close all source clips in order to open a sequence clip in the source monitor to the matching frame…saved me a lot of frustration. Thank you.
