fcp to compressor issue (prep for DVDSP)
hi,
i’m pretty sure i’m missing something totally basic here, but i can’t figure out the problem on my own…
i exported a qt movie (‘with current settings’) from my fcp timeline. looking at that in quicktime everything looks good. i then take that file into compressor and add the “DVD Best Quality – 90 min” setting. even before doing the recommended alterations (setting my bit rate & changing the audio dialog normalization to -31) if i go to preview the image comes out entirely interlaced. what is the preset doing that is affecting my ntsc dv 780×420 footage to make it look interlaced? the inspector recognizes field dominance as bottom first and everything looks normal. is there something i need to change in the frame controls section? (frame controls are currently off)
as a relative newbie i’m not entirely versed in the wonders of compressor and this is my first project experimenting with DVDSP (i had been using Toast) so i have no experience with this part of the process. and need to figure this out ASAP!! i really appreciate any and all help! please let me know if you need any more info. thanks in advance.
