Just make sure you have no filters or effects that are Avid or FCP specific…those will not transfer. Cuts and dissolves only.

March 4, 2006 at 12:40 amgreat, would lower thirds, which the gfx’s come in a cd, meaning they are independent, I would only place them and put the titles work? Thanks.

March 5, 2006 at 3:01 amAt this time titles do not translate at all.
But in the next release of Pro Import FCP Avid titles will turn into FCP text generators.
From FCP to Avid titles become placeholder clips.

March 6, 2006 at 1:43 amso if one was to online, would this be a better option than using EDLs?
that is – bring hte project in without the media and re dig?

Absolutely. that’s our workflow with Good Eats right now. The in-house editor cuts the show with Alton on an AVID for SD and then I get the OMF from her to conform the show into High Def in FCP.
Works flawlessly and with Wes adding the new titling translation from AVID to FCP that is just going to rock.
