FCP to AE roundtrip gamma correction tips?
Just got bit by the “Gamma Shift” bug again.
Source file was 1080 23.98 ProRes file sent to AE for a simple “screen insert” – replace the thing on TV/Computer screen and then send it back to Final Cut.
Whether they gave me Animation or ProRes, the gamma was shifted.
If it was ProRes, I couldn’t use the “Gamma Value” selection. Animation let me choose, but wasn’t much help.
Any tips for avoiding this issue?

In AE under Project Settings, check Match Legacy After Effects Quicktime Gamma Adjustments.
