Alright, I hope this makes sense. I’m trying to find a plug-in that takes my sequence from FCP into AE and breaks up the clips so I don’t have to export them individually and then import them in and set them up in the after effects time line. I’ve heard these exist. I’m using Final Cut 7 and CS5.

    Thanks!

There is a free script by Popcorn Island that will do this

    https://www.popcornisland.com/2009/03/final-cut-2-after-effects/
I have used it with CS5 and FCP 7 and it works. For me it
crashes when I try to bring the audio over so I don’t use that
    option.

If your looking for more bells and whistles there are two commercial products that I know of
Boris XML transfer and Automatic duck. These apps will include a lot more manipulation/effects to be transferred with the clips. If your just looking for cuts only the Popcorn island script works well.

Though you can’t natively import Final Cut Pro projects directly into After Effects, you can import Final Cut Pro projects into Premiere Pro and then bring that project’s components into After Effects.

In these videos, you can see an EDL going through Premiere Pro to get to After Effects:
