  • FCP Sync Offset Tool–Changes Not “Taking” in FCP 4.5

Hello, we have attempted to use the FCP Sync Offset Plug-in to apply a two-frame correction to Varicam 720p footage. We’ve ingested the footage from DVCAM downconversions, and are running FCP 4.5 on a Dual 2ghz G5, OS 10.4. When we open a given clip in the browser and select Offset Audio Sync from the Tools pull-down menu, we can view the clip in the viewer with the correct sync offset applied. However, the change is not permanent and does not affect the edited clip in the timeline. Is the Sync Offset Tool supposed to operate at a Quicktime level and permanently modify the sync relationship of audio to video? Or is it some sort of script? We have been unable to find documentation that addresses this. Or is it possible that it just not working because we’re running FCP 4.5? Many thanks for any help.
