  • FCP Sync Issues upon Exporting

    Oddest sync issue I’ve encountered.
I was editing an hour-long press conference on Final Cut Pro HD.
Digitizing footage from DVCam, Sony DSR-11 through firewire.
My playback is through an AJA Io box.
Exporting the footage both to a quicktime movie and onto a BetacamSP deck (Sony PVW-2800) through an AJA Io box.

Both the exported quicktime movie file and the Beta tape become more and more grossly out of sync as the show goes on. My timeline plays fine with everything in sync, and the digitized footage is also in sync.
Any idea what caused this sync issue?

I doubt that it is any of my decks or my AJA box or anything outside of FCP. If it was, then the quicktime movie file would be perfect. My only speculation is that Final Cut Pro HD has a problem adjusting between different input devices (going from a AJA Io box to firewire) not during exporting but even when playing. Does this make sense? Has anyone else experienced this before?
