  • FCP subtitles to Blue Ray?

Posted by Nick August-perna on October 27, 2008 at 7:19 pm

Is there any way to get subtitles made in FCP into Blue ray unembedded? in other words exporting an HML, converting it in Annotation or some such software, and creating a format Blue Ray can use.
Right now I’m being asked for an actual script and bitmap as if it’s the only way to do Blue Ray subtitles. Is this true? Thanks so much.

BluRay subtitles as far as I understand it, have to be created separately from the video and delivered as a separate file. We have not had to do this yet, but my understanding is that subtitles cannot be embedded into the video track for BluRay disc.

they are done separately and can be scripted just like DVD.
