If any of you are having problems with Still frames and imported graphics in FCP 5.0 please have a look a the embedded color profiles of the specific files you are having a problem with. it seems that if there is no profile assigned then FCP will be missing some information it needs. so for the still frame issues (jpegs, tif’s, psd’s) check your file’s embedded color profile.

The Problem also seems to be rooted in PC formated or originated files. If they originally came from a PC it seems that FCP 5.0 has some problems dealing with them.

I also think that this is a problem with Dynamic RT in that if the files are “green line” files the proxy is just awful. IN 4.5, the “green line” files in the timeline never really looked this bad before any moves were dropped on them.

As strange as it sounds, I think they made the proxy look worse so people would realize they needed to render instead of complaining that they were a little fuzzy.
