  • FCP Sequence Settings for 720p HD from a P2

I’m currently editing a movie that was shot on HD. I’m not to familiar with HD and the footage was given to me on a Firewire hard drive from a P2 card. I was able to import the footage no problem by converting the films to QT. The question I have is what settings to I put it on in the sequence settings before I start to edit it. I want to make sure it doesn’t use any quality.

The footage was shot HD 720p/24p. Just wondering what to I set the Aspect Ratio, Pixel AR, Field Dom., Editing Timebase, and QT Compresser.

Please let me know and thanks for the help.

GO to the FINAL CUT PRO menu, choose EASY SETUP…then choose DVCPRO HD 720p24. Make a new sequence and you are good to go.

If you have FCP 6, then when you drop a clip into the timeline, it will modify it to match your clip for you…]

Thank you very much. I’ll try this. I forgot to mention that I’m working off of FCP 5.0.4. Once I change the easy set up can I change the set up back to normal after I create the new sequence or do I have to leave it on there when I’m working in that project?
