I’ve been trying to wrap my head around the best way to conform the dpx’s on this project.

At the moment we’ve tried exporting an edl and xml from FCP from the offline, populating the media pool with the dpxs, which are the same name, with the exception being the frame number on the DPXs.

For example S032_31.mov vs S032_31.0001.dpx Resolve doesn’t connect to any of it.

So, we tried manually reconnecting in FCP by replacing the .movs with the dpxs. This worked in FCP.

I send the XML and EDL (tried both) from FCP to Resolve, populated the media pool with the clips I had been reconnecting with in FCP and again, Resolve doesn’t conform it properly. Every shot has a Conflict and is the wrong shot or has a red X.

Whats stranger is, when I send that same XML to Apple Color, it conforms perfectly.

My question now is.. what do I need to set as our conform options to in Resolve for it to mimic what Apple Color is doing to make the conform work?

    Thanks!!

    Hi Rachel

I’d like to help you out with this,

Can you export your project from resolve along with your xml and edl, zip them up and email to:

    davincihelp@blackmagic-design.com

    attn Charlie

    I’ll take a look.

How is Resolve set to read the reel info for clips in the media pool? Make sure that you have the right pattern for deriving the reel name from the file name.

I tried changing the pattern. (although I’m not sure if I did it right)

Right now the DPX’s have no metadata with reel information. So.. we have to extract one using the “Assist using reel numbers from the source clip path name” right?

    The pathname is volumes/raid/reel#/S#_S0##/LeftEye/File0001.dpx

I created a pattern that extracted the reel number based on the folder those DPXs live in.

Then I imported that reels DPXs into the media pool and they all had the proper reel number listed beside it.

Then, I tried an EDL and XML, still no luck.

Still has no problem conforming the XML in Apple Color though.
