FCP renders
running fcp 7 and we’ve come across this issue with renders.
when using the black and white filter, the preview on the image is fine, but once you render it the entire image with the filter goes to black and there is no image on it at all. (even though in the viewer and canvas/timeline) it was fine and set to what we want. any ideas on why it’s going to black on the render.
if you use the color corrector filter it works fine…..i know the system will always have kinks…just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this issue.

It was footage off a 5d at a 24 frame rate.
It was converted to apple pro res codec. I suspected it being a unity issue but it was on a system that was offline and renders saved locally.
I’ve never seen anything like it.

If you’re editing in a 10-bit time line (ie ProRes422) try going into the setup for the Timeline and drop it down to 8-bit rendering and see if that does it. I have a number of filters that just won’t work in a 10-bit timeline.
