One of our editors has started having a problem with files rendering wrong. He would go to render a sequence and once the render was finished, a bunch of text elements would say the same thing (they were different pieces of text). If we kill the renderes and rerender these sections they render correctly the second time. Other text would render in the wrong spot on the screen. There was even a still that rendered with the wrong opacity. All of these were solved with killing the renders and rerendering, but it’s been happening on and off and we can never be sure if we catch all the bad renders. Anyone know what might be causing this?

    Thanks,

    First, trash the stills cache.

    Then, trash preferences.

Next, fix permissions using Apple Utility.

Finally, open the render manager, and delete all the renders for that project, then re-render.

If there are render issues after that I’ll be very surprised.

Thanks a lot for the fast response! Quick question, where does FCP save the stills cache? Is that the same as the Obj Cache or the Thumbnail Cache?

Oops, I meant to say thumbnail cache.
