I’m willing to be corrected but I’m fairly sure FCP X up to and including .0.2 would’t relink to a file if that file was in an Event but was modified outside of FCP X. (i.e. by motion or photoshop).

Well it does now! And it works if the file is imported to an event or if its not (when X makes an alias to it).

Only slight downside is that it doesn’t recognise if you add a layer to a photoshop file. Other than that works a treat – even dynamically changes files that are in the timeline.

So send to motion might not be to far away…

Yes, it is a restored “feature” of 10.0.3.

The missing “Open in Editor” feature (which has do with Motion or other roundtrips and PS Layers as well) is a known bug/lack by Apple.
It hopefully will be implemented soon.
