FCP re-edit
A while back I edited an interview. At the time, the original DVcam footage wasn’t available to me, so I worked from a lower-quality dub. Now there’s interest in making copies of the edited interview available, so if we’re selling it I’d like to make it look better than what I have now.
I have the DVcam now. Although I’ve since deleted the capture files from the low-quality dub, I do still have the FCP project file. The timecode on the DVcam doesn’t match that from my capture files. Is there a way to recreate it without having to start from zero?

Recapture the low quality version. Find a specific point in the interview (when someone starts talking might be the easiest)
On a deck with a timecode display, find the same exact spot and note the timecode.In FCP, load the low quality clip in the viewer and put the playhead on the specific spot. Go to Modify/Timecode and type in the timecode from the high quality tape. Take the low quality clip offline using the make offline clip. Recapture using the high quality tape.
