Peculiar behavior: Final Cut stops opening projects double-clicked in the finder, after being open for a while. It’s inconsistent, so I can’t give steps to reproduce, but it happens often. When it happens, if I quit FCS 3, FCP will not prompt me to save changes. Quit acts like a force quit. I’ve trashed the prefs and run FCS maintenace pack utilities on it to no avail. Any clues as to why?

Sounds like an OS problem, as trashing prefs did not fix it. This is happening with all projects? Not just certain ones?

Try downloading Onyx and using it to clean your caches. You might also try repairing permissions, Disk Warrior, etc.

It only does this in Final Cut on a variety of projects that share the same footage files. Quitting FCP restores the normal behavior, so I don’t think it’s an OS issue. I just have to go through each project in the browser and manually save, or else I have to go to the autosave vault.
