  FCP & Pro Tools

  We are setting up a new edit suite and are seeking the best way to incorporate FCP & Pro Tools into the new environment. We have a G5 Dual 2.7, Pro Tools MBox W/Command-8 external control surface for PT, Aja IOLa and Kona 2, Alesis studio monitors, etc. We are thinking of adding a Mackie Onyx 1220 mixer w/talkback to the VO booth.

  Just wondering what setups others use to allow max functionality of FCP & Pro Tools in recording, monitoring, mixing, laying audio back into FCP, etc. Most of our work is 30 sec. spots but we do have the occasional long form project.

  Any advice or real world examples of others’ setups would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.
